Item Details
An antique Renaissance-Revival, walnut slant-front desk and a walnut Victorian Gothic ‘ballroom’ chair. They are fitted with contrasting wood overlays and pierced trims. The desk rises on a trestle style base featuring pierced trefoils to the legs and joined by a shaped rail and ledge. The chair features a shaped crest rail with an open handhold over a pierced splat flanked by two turned spindles and stiles joining the serpentine-shaped lower rail. The woven rush seat rises on turned front legs that taper to the floor and join the tapered back legs via stretchers. There are no visible maker’s marks.
