An oil painting on paper of a figurative scene by listed American artist Edgar Hatten (1929-1990). This work features an abstract composition of two seated figures rendered with stippled brushwork. Hatten is known for painting abstract still-lifes and landscapes, integrating mood, concept, visual elements, and drama. He was born in Wyoming and lived most of his life in Los Angeles. He was a teacher at Swinbourne College in Australia, and in California at East Los Angeles College and Citrus College.
