Frank Spitzer Vintage Watercolor After Audubon "Carolina Paroquet"
Item Details
A vintage master study watercolor painting on paper titled Carolina Paroquet by Frank Spitzer after renowned ornithologist and artist John James Audubon (1785 – 1851). This piece depicts a flock of now-extinct Carolina Parakeets in a tree, with the title and plate number beneath the image. The work is signed by hand to the lower right and dated ’44. It is presented under a mat and acrylic glass in a wood frame, wired to hang.

- to fair; discoloration, foxing and buckling throughout ground; discoloration to mat board; chips and wear to edges of frame.
