Item Details

A pair of Cincinnati Reds-related items. The 1946 scorecard had the Reds playing the St. Louis Cardinals. A 1951 Sport magazine has Reds player Ewell Blackwell on the cover. Ewell is featured in a story starting on page 48. Ewell was called ‘the Whip’ because of the way he pitched the baseball; when Ewell pitched, his sidearm delivery was so extreme the batter thought the ball was coming from third base.

Condition

- scorecard was used and pencil notations on the back cover; center page is detached from the staples
- magazine: pen notation of “1951” on the cover; spine wear, small tears; did not check for completion
