An oil painting on paper titled The Return by listed American artist Jean Frances Schonwalter (1919-1998). This monochromatic painting depicts a crowd of ghostly white figures emerging from a wash of bleeding black gradients. The work is signed and dated in the lower right margin ‘J. Schonwalter 1963’. It is presented under glass with a beige mat in a silver tone wood frame. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso, along with an identification label from Cober Gallery, Inc.
