A limited edition lithograph on paper by listed artist Hoi Lebadang (Vietnamese, 1922 – 2015). This print, rendered in a palette of orange, yellow, blue and black pigments, features an abstracted coastal scene. Depicted is a shadowed figure in a rowboat and and an embankment with tall, marshy vegetation. The print is signed and numbered ‘164/375’ by hand in graphite to the lower margins. It is matted in off-white and presented behind acrylic glass in a black metal frame. Adhered to the verso is a label of authentication from the Société de Vérification de la Nouvelle Gravure Internationale of New York and Paris.
Lebadang was born in Vietnam, later moving to France to study at the renowned Ecole de Beaux-Arts in Toulouse. He exhibited in Paris and throughout Europe, and gained U.S. attention through an exhibit at the Cincinnati Art Museum in Ohio. Hoi is known for his elegant watercolors, sculptures and lithographs, expressing grace and poetry in figurative and abstract forms.
