Franklin Mint "Charta Caelestis" Silver Plate and Gold Leaf Celestial Map
Item Details
A vintage limited edition Charta Caelestis celestial map for The International Astronomical Union by The Franklin Mint. This rectangular silver plate map features printed black linework with applied gold leaf accents. The map reads in Latin and depicts the constellations in relation to their position by month and hemisphere. It is presented sealed in acrylic plastic, under glass, and matted in a wooden frame. An affixed manufacturer’s note to its verso notes a copyright date of 1978.

- faint tarnish; edge wear, nicks, and scratches to frame.
