An early to mid 20th-century French advertising poster for Jantzen swimwear. The piece features the 1920s-era version of the Portland company’s logo, with a female swimmer in a red suit and cap diving through the air against a black background. The piece features the Jantzen logo in yellow text to the center right, with text to the outer margins of ‘Que vous soyez blonde ou brune – un Jantzen vous Siera!’ (‘Whether you are blonde or brunette – a Jantzen will get you!’) and ‘Le Costume Qui Transforme le Bain en Natation’ (‘The Suit That Turns Bathing into Swimming’). It is presented in a gold tone wooden frame.
