An antique primitive handmade birch, with a red wash finish, work table having a plank top overhanging a dovetailed drawer with two cast brass pulls featuring lyres. The table stands on four turned legs ending on ball feet joined on the sides with serpentine-shaped corner brackets. Circa mid-19th century. There are no visible maker’s marks.
scratches to top; previously used in workshop so shows wear and missing the right side panel, brackets because it was cut from another joining piece – note the unfinished top edge.
