Vintage WWII M44 Wool Field "Eisenhower" Jacket
Item Details
A WWII M44 wool field “Eisenhower” jacket. The jacket features notched lapels, shoulder epaulets, two breast patch pockets, and waist adjustments to the sides. Included are the attached First Sergeant rank patches, green combat leader stripes and service stripes to the sleeves, a XIII Corps division patch, a brass Field Artillery insignia with crossed cannons, four medal ribbons above the breast pocket, and an Honorable Discharge lapel patch, known as the “Ruptured Duck”. The XIII Corps was activated on December 7th, 1945, and was deactivated September 25th, 1945 after fighting for the European Theater of Operations. This style was named after General Dwight D. Eisenhower, who requested a waist-length jacket, and was made standard issue in November 1944.
