A Georgian style knife box. This wooden piece features a hinged lid adorned with an oval-fan paterae and a brass shield shaped escutcheon to the central body. The lid opens to reveal empty storage space. This piece rests on a beveled, scalloped base. There are no discernible maker’s marks noted.
