Hand-Knotted Persian Silk Tabriz Area Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Persian silk Tabriz area rug. This rug has a floral central pendant medallion woven in ice blue, cinnamon, black and caramel over a madder red field. It offers a heavily populated herati design with large palmettes and winding floral vines. Spandrels join the field with complimenting floral elements grounded in ice blue. Framing the rug is a main stylized herati border flanked by carnation meander guard borders. Selvedges are overcast, finishing with a narrow kilim skirt and knotted silk warp fringe at either end. Unlabeled.
