Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Indo-Persian wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, apricot, sky blue, saffron, indigo, mocha, and coral. The ivory colored field begins with a lobed diamond medallion in a floral and foliate theme, accompanied by wreaths of scrolling lancette leaves and floral motifs, with the same motifs forming the spandrels. Framing the field is a main ornately designed floral meander border, along with a pair of carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a knotted warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
