Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Bijar carpet runner. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of black, emerald, crimson and ivory. It features a densely patterned herati field incorporating kaleidoscopically arranged palmettes, flowers, leaves and diamonds over black. The field is framed by four borders, including a samovar main border featuring meandering palmettes over crimson. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
