Reproduction Cast Metal Sculpture After Agasias "Borghese Gladiator"

A contemporary reproduction figure in cast copper alloy, created after the Hellenistic work in marble by Agasias of Ephesus known as the Borghese Gladiator. The piece depicts a male figure fighting in battle, wearing a small shield on his extended left arm. The work features a patinated silver tone finish and rests on a beveled anorthosite stone base. No signature or maker’s mark was found.

Condition

- to fair; areas of scuffing, discoloration and surface wear, especially to edges; patina and nicks to right knee; patina to nose; chipping to stone base; oxidation to bolts on underside of base.
