Item Details
A hand-knotted wool Yomut torba. This storage bag features a striped handwoven backing in a palette of madder red and sepia with a hand-knotted front. The front of the torba is rendered in a palette of crimson, indigo, ivory, sepia, and clementine. The field features a pole of hexagonal forms infilled with a kochak cross, along with bands of diamonds. Framing the field are multiple patterns including ram’s horns, a Hamadan meander, and floral patterns. The open end also features a kilim skirt with rows of embroidered motifs. The bag finishes with a loop fringe to the open end, and a long tasseled fringe to one edge. Unlabeled.
