Handwoven Northern Persian Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A handwoven northern Persian wool accent rug. The small rug has been woven using wool in shades of black, alabaster, russet, wine, and tangerine. The weaver has created a dynamic pattern of vertical and horizontal bands which creates panels that are infilled with geometric motifs such as stepped diamonds and crosses. The visual effect is nearly dimensional as the black, wine, and alabaster shades are juxtaposed in serrate stripes. The selvedges are multiple overcast and there is short natural wool fringe to each end.
