Hand-Knotted Tekke Bokhara Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Tekke Bokhara area rug. This tribal wool rug features a lattice of Tekke medallions interspersed with small, cruciform guls over a garnet field. The palette is garnet, midnight blue, ivory, apricot and mocha. Framing the field are multiple geometric borders, including star octograms, soldier motifs and dyrnak elem panels. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with red and cream-colored embroidered mesh skirts and ivory wool and goat hair warp fringe. Metal rings are attached to the underside. The rug is unlabeled.
