A set of two architectural engravings on paper after artist J. Linnig. Featured is a print depicting the gate to St. Michael’s Abbey in Antwerp, Belgium; it is signed in plate to the lower left, noted ‘45’ in plate to the lower right and inscribed ‘1844’ in pencil by an unknown hand. It is matted in white and presented under glass in a black wooden frame. Also featured is an unframed work after Linnig depicting an arched courtyard entrance; it is signed in plate to the lower left, noted ‘41’ in plate to the lower right, inscribed ‘1842’ in pencil by an unknown hand.
Condition
- to fair; rip to unframed print at top right; toning and discoloration to paper; foxing to mat board; edge wear and scratching to frame.
