A bronze sculpture after a work titled The Mountain Man by well listed American sculptor Frederick Remington (1861-1909). This sculpture depict a figure on horseback negotiating a steep downward incline. The long haired figure wears a fur hat, fringed leather coat and pants, moccasins, and carried a hunting rifle. The work is signed in-mold “Copyright by Frederick Remington” on the hillside near the horse’s hoof. It is presented on a green marble plinth with a brass plaque reading “Mountain Man by Frederic Remington, Gilcrease Museum”.

- residue to ground near horse’s front feet; minor surface wear throughout; discoloration and warping to name plaque at base.
