A 1905 gelatin silver photograph of the Knights Templar by photographer E. E. Bowman. This sepia tone photograph depicts a lineup of men in formal military attire, including a black uniform, holstered sword and hat featuring feathers. The uniforms are embroidered with a cross, which can even be seen on each belt buckle. To the lower right corner is an in-plate attribution of artist. The photograph is presented under glass beneath matting, which is accompanied by a handwritten, dated artist signature. This is placed in a black wooden frame featuring ornately moulded, gold tone corners with hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- photo and mat it is mounted on show discoloration; edge wear to frame; three of the four corners of frame are chipped.
