An early 20th-century engraving on paper after Giovanni Battista Piranesi’s View of the Flavian Amphitheater, known as the Colosseum (Veduta dell’Anfiteatro Flavio, detto il Colosseo) from his Vedute scenes. The piece depicts an 18t-century view of the Roman Colosseum, rendered in black against a cream ground. The unsigned print includes inscriptions and title information printed in plate along the lower margin. It is matted in cream and presented under glass in a black wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

- to fair; discoloration, fading and toning to print; debris present under glass; foxing to paper and matting; nicks, scuffs and edge wear to frame.
