Antique Empire Style Walnut Chest with Mirror

Item Details

An antique Empire style, walnut chest featuring beaded trim, hand-dovetailed drawers with flame walnut veneers, turned wood knobs, and brass-lined keyholes. The mirror is set in an oval-shaped and pierced frame and fixed to tilt on a pierced, pedestal base set between two glove boxes above a shallow top. The top drawer has a serpentine-shaped, book matched veneered front followed by two recessed drawers with flat, book match veneered fronts and flanked by protruding, serpentine-shaped stiles on either side. The piece stands on the stiles that continue to the floor terminating on scrolled feet. This item is located on the upper level of the property.

Condition

split in wood to very top drawer compartment. Missing one knob. Wear and nicks thoughout
