Item Details
A signed oil painting on canvas of a bearded gentleman. This painting depicts a man with a large mustache looking off to the side and wearing a large brim hat accented with a red feather. Signed illegibly to the lower right appearing to read ‘T. Smeebay’, the painting is presented in a gold tone gesso and wood frame with a piece of wire present to the verso for hanging purposes.
Condition
- edge wear to frame, large chunks of gesso are missing to the upper right and upper left of frame; painting shows aging cracks, some alligatoring and a puncture with media loss to the lower right margin; UV light reveals some areas of retouching and inpainting.
