A set of twelve sterling silver demitasse cups by Frank M. Whiting Co. These matching cups features pierced scrolled foliate and lattice designs around the bowls with angular handles and each cup comes with a Lenox cream-glazed porcelain liner with gilt trim. The undersides of the cups are stamped with the maker’s mark, ‘Sterling’, and the pattern number 7572, and the liners are marked, ‘Lenox’. The lot also includes a sterling silver double-handled bouillon cup and a sugar basket, both by the Watson Company with pierced bowls. These pieces each come with a cream-glazed porcelain Lenox liner with gilt trim. The undersides of the sugar bowls are stamped with the maker’s mark, along with ‘Sterling’; the basket is additionally marked by the retailer Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co. The liners are both marked by Lenox. The total approximate sterling of the cups and sugar bowl is 18.835 ozt.
