A semi-antique handwoven Anatolian wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of indigo, ivory, rose-cranberry, azure, sepia, and buff. The indigo field is enclosed with deep rose-cranberry toned spandrels, and features a large cruciform shaped medallion infilled with floral and oak leaf motifs. The field also features palmette motifs with a hooked pole flanking the medallion, while the spandrels feature picket patterned edges, and infilled with diamond, floral, and leaf motifs. Framing the field is a main rosette and leaf medallion designed border, with meandering box guard borders, and cruciform motifs to the minor border. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and an ivory warp fringe to the ends.
