Hand-Knotted Caucasian Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian tribal wool accent rug. The rug has been woven in shades of camel, indigo, ivory, sky blue, chocolate, and salmon. The center of the camel field is dominated by an octagonal medallion populated with kochak and aina kochak motifs. The field is further infilled with pictorial motifs, including a panel at each end featuring waterfowl on a pale blue background, four-legged creatures, and humans with other animals. There is also an eight-pointed star at the center of each end. The narrow border has a stylized geometric leaf and flower design. The selvedges are overcast and there is short fringe at each end. Unmarked.
