Item Details
A pair of similar mid-century gouache paintings on paper by Italian artist Antonio Francione (20th-century). Featured are Pompei, La Corsa and Pompei, I Vinai, depicting winged cherubic figures set against black backgrounds. Each piece is titled to the lower left and signed ‘Francione’ in white paint to the lower right. The paintings are double-matted and presented in vintage gold tone wooden frames, each fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- to poor; warping, accretion, staining and discoloration to paper ground and mat boards; edge wear, loose joints and scuffing to frames; damage, tears and discoloration throughout frame backings.
