A woodcut print poster advertising a performance of the Franz Liszt (1811-1886) composition for piano and orchestra titled Totentanz, or, ‘Dance of the Dead’. This single color relief print depicts a reanimated skeleton in rags, playing a fiddle. A blank unmarked box beneath the image is intended to contain the handwritten details of a specific performance. The work is presented under glass in a black metallic frame with a hanging wire mounted to the verso.
