A finely hand-knotted Persian Nain wool room size rug. This beautiful rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, silver, rose, powder blue, taupe, aqua, cranberry, olive, pale yellow, sage, cornflower, and buff. The ivory colored field begins with a large round pendant medallion, and features a floral theme throughout with scrolling vines, and intricately detailed flower and palmette motifs The deep spandrels feature similar motifs with curled leaves and blossoms, while both the spandrels and the ends are each finished with an elaborate flower filled vase. Framing the field is a stylized herati pattern with added flowers, along with broken borders of swags, leaves, palmettes, and multiple floral motifs. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a fine ivory warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
