Finely Hand-Knotted Persian Kashan Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Persian Kashan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, sand, sky blue, jade, cornsilk, mauve, and coral. The cranberry colored field begins with a central diamond pendant medallion with coordinating layered spandrels, and features ornately designed scrolling floral, foliate, and palmette motifs throughout. Framing the field is an equally elaborate main border with a stylized herati pattern, along with a pair of floral meander guard borders, and sawtooth minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton kilim skirt with long knotted fringe. Unlabeled.
