Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Josheghan Carpet Runner
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Josheghan carpet runner. This rug begins with a serrated medallion and four attached pendants to the center field infilled with florets, cruciforms, arrows and hooked devises forming diamonds within a diamond. The remaining field is densely populated with more elements such as florets, palmettes tree forms and willow motifs forming diamond shapes. Serrated edged spandrels have complimenting diamond designs and are lined with tulips. A laleh abassi guard border along with a main border of meandering palmettes frame this rug. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with short natural warp fringe at each end. It is labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
