Gorham "Strasbourg" Sterling Silver Flatware Set

A set of sterling silver flatware by Gorham in the Strasbourg pattern, designed by William C. Codman and first introduced in 1897. This fifty-seven piece set includes twelve dinner forks, eleven salad forks, fourteen teaspoons, two flat handle butter spreaders, one ladle, one serving spoon, one serving fork, one sugar spoon, and one pickle/olive fork. The set additionally includes twelve dinner knives and one pie server with stainless blades and hollow sterling handles. Each piece features a scroll bordered handle with shell accented tip, with most of their backs marked “Gorham Sterling”. This set is presented in a wooden flatware chest with burgundy colored felt-like interior lining. This set, excluding the pieces with stainless steel blades, has a total approximate weight of 60.445 ozt.
