After Ettore "Ted" DeGrazia Offset Lithograph on Canvas "Seri Children"

Item Details

An offset lithograph on canvas titled Seri Children after well-listed Southwestern American artist Ettore ‘Ted’ DeGrazia (1909-1982). This work features a gathering of children holding hands in a circle around a large cactus. The painting is signed in plate to the lower right. It is presented in a carved gold-tone wood frame with a canvas liner. The title of the work is handwritten to the verso.

Remembered as one of Arizona’s most prominent artists, Ted DeGrazia traveled to Mexico City from humble beginnings to study under renowned Mexican muralists Diego Rivera and Jose Orozco, who sponsored an exhibition of DeGrazia’s work. He received a BFA and M.A. from the University of Arizona while his paintings, ceramics, and graphic art gained national recognition. In 1960, his 1957 painting titled Los Niños was chosen by UNICEF for a holiday card that sold over five million boxes worldwide.
