Two Mixed Media Paintings Figurative Scenes
Item Details
A pair of mixed media paintings on paper of figurative scenes. The first item is a watercolor and ink painting on paper depicting figures fishing signed ‘Picile Baillaud,’ and dated 1922 to the bottom center. The painting is presented matted without a frame. Next is a tempra paint composition made using stamps depicting multiple figures in the nude. To the bottom right, the work is signed ‘H. Leniche.’ The painting is presented unmounted and without a frame.
Condition
- to fair; some wear around the edges of each item; discoloration and staining to the bottom of the larger item; some warping to the mat of the larger item; to the verso of the larger item, discoloration, graphite marks, and smudges; discoloration around the surface of the smaller work; some marks to the bottom of the image of the smaller work; to the verso of the smaller item, staining and wear.
