A signed, limited edition offset lithograph titled White Tigers after an original painting by well-listed renowned American wildlife illustrator and naturalist John A. Ruthven (Cincinnati, born 1924). The print depicts a detailed rendering of three white tigers and one orange tiger gathered on a rocky ledge. It is signed within the plate to the lower right. It is signed and numbered 538 out of an edition of 1000 in pencil to the lower margin. The work is presented behind an off-white mat and liner, under glass, in a silver tone and brown wood frame, and is ready to hang with a wire.
Ruthven (1927), born in Cincinnati, studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and became referred to as “the 20th century Audubon” due to the fact that he researched his subject thoroughly then masterfully depicted wildlife in great and exact detail.
