A French 19th Century bronze bust of Madame Récamier, after work by the French neoclassical sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon. A cast bronze bust depicting the French socialite Jeanne-Françoise Julie Adélaïde Récamier (1777 -1849). She has a wrap on her hair, and she is coyly gazing downward, a veil is seen loosely draped across her chest. The sculpture is hollow and has a marble base with a leather veneer to the underside. Signed Houdon to lower back.
