A set of German 800 silver flatware by M.H. Wilkens & Söhne of Bremen-Hemelingen (founded 1810). The pattern features a thread handle with foliate and beaded accents along the edges, and most handles have personalized engravings. The fifty-piece set includes six dinner forks, eight salad forks, eleven pastry forks, five teaspoons, and a tablespoon. They are presented with twelve dessert knives and seven dinner knives, all with hollow handles. Each piece is marked with ‘800’ next to the post-1886 German reichsmark of a crescent moon and a crown along with the maker’s mark. Some pieces additionally have a retailer’s mark for M. Stumpf & Sohn. The set is comes in a wooden flatware chest with red felt-like interior lining. The total approximate weight, excluding hollow handled dinner and dessert knives, is 39.645 ozt.
