Large Hand-Knotted Indo-Oushak Area Rug
Item Details
A large Indo-Oushak area rug. This plush wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of sapphire, sand, ivory, sage and powder blue. It features an allover pattern incorporating large-scale and smaller palmettes, flowers, leaves and vines over a sapphire field. The field is framed by six borders, including a wide main border grounded in sapphire and filled with palmettes and semi-abstract floral and foliage elements. Minor borders are grounded in ivory and sage. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
