Marvin Finn Folk Art

An original bird sculpture by Folk artist Marvin Finn (1913-2007). This carved wood sculpture depicts a red and black spotted fish with a large yellow mouth on a green painted wood base. The piece is signed and dated on the bottom reading, “Finn ’91.”
*Marvin Finn (1913 – 2007) was born in Alabama, but became an established artist in Louisville where he started producing his unique folk art in 1972 where he became well known for his “bird flock” bird pieces. A tribute to the artist is on permanent display on Louisville’s waterfront titled Flock of Finns and features 28 metal bird sculptures based on Finn’s work.
Condition
The fish has broken off of its base and has been re-attached.
