Vintage Hand Knotted Anatolian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Anatolian wool area rug. This rug has been woven in abrashed shades of salmon, buff, pink, tangerine, ochre, azure, and mauve. A large lobed pendant medallion dominates a field populated with rectilinear floral elements. The spandrels compliment the field with more floral designs. Framing the rug are carnation meander guard borders which flank a wide primary border with stepped geometric forms and star motifs. Selvedges are overcast, finishing with knotted naturl fringe at each end. Labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
