Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Turkmen area rug. This artfully antiqued wool rug features a Turkmen-style lattice design in a markedly abrashed palette of gray, black, scarlet and ivory. It begins with a gray field filled with ashik medallions in scarlet with ivory highlights. The field is framed by three borders, including a main border grounded in black or gray, featuring ashik motifs and stylized oak leaves. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is labeled on the reverse.
