Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Kurdish Bijar wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of scarlet, black, indigo, ivory, clementine, saffron, wine, and slate. The crimson hued field features a black lozenge with a large hexagonal pendant medallion, while featuring diamonds, birds, floral, star, and other geometrically shaped motifs. Framing the field is a main floral meander border with added arrow motifs, along with a pair of star and split leaf meander guard borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
