A vintage hand-knotted Persian Heriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, ivory, olive, teal, wheat, mauve, and mocha. The field features a large cranberry colored lozenge grounded by ivory, and begins with a large star pendant medallion, with coordinating spandrels also. The field also features geometrically shaped floral motifs throughout, along with leaves, boxes, and cruciform shapes. Framing the field is a main indigo grounded border with large rosettes balanced with florette pairs, along with a chained flower guard border, and a running dog guard border as well. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
