Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Moud Bijar Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Moud Bijar wool area rug. This beautiful rug is rendered in a palette of saffron, fern, slate, ivory, cobalt, cranberry, black, wheat, apricot, and rose. The ornately designed field begins with a large lobed medallion framed in a saffron scalloped border, and features an all-over herati pattern throughout the slate grounded field. The spandrels coordinate with the same herati pattern, but grounded in apricot and framed in fern. Framing the field is an unresolved main samovar border, along with carnation meander guard borders, and chained diamond minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a short warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
