Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted signed Persian Qom wool area rug. This beautiful rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, ivory, saffron, sky blue, apricot, mocha, olive, pine, and wheat. The cranberry colored field begins with an ornate round pendant medallion with coordinating spandrels grounded in indigo and apricot, and features an abundance of scrolling vines of lancette leaves, palmettes, and floral motifs. Framing the field is a bold herati patterned main border, along with a pair of floral meander guard borders, and a carnation meander minor border. There is a signature to the outer floral meander guard border at one end, and translates to ‘Fallah’. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a short wheat colored warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
