A late 19th century Biedermeier style abattant secretary desk. This desk features an art deco style design with stepped oval top and ebony banding trim throughout. Ornate front comprised of mixed veneers and burl wood center. Ebony escutcheons with key open the drop front desk to reveal a striking two tone multi compartment center with center door, ebony knobs and leather top writing surface. Open shelves to bottom and seated on scroll feet with carved medallions. An issue of ‘Antique Week’ from May, 2015, with a question/answer write up about this piece, is included.
