Salvador Dali Wood Engraving "La Danse"

Item Details

A wood engraving on paper created from the original watercolor titled La Danse by influential Spanish Surrealist Salvador Dali (1904-1989). This color woodblock print depicts four figures standing in a circle in a field. A woman takes a knee in the middle of the circle as the three other figures strike emotive poses as if captured mid-dance. The work is signed in-plate by Dali in the upper center of the image. It is presented under glass with a white mat in a gold tone wood and gesso frame with molded arabesque motif. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso, along with an identification label and a certificate of authenticity from Park West Gallery.

This piece is included in the catalogue raisonné, “The Official Catalog of the Graphic Works of Salvador Dali” by Albert Field, catalogue pages 191-2.
