R. Young Oil Painting of Parisian Street Scene After the Rain

A late 20th-century Impressionist-inspired oil painting on canvas by artist R. Young. The piece depicts a fin-de-siècle Parisian street scene, with pedestrians walking upon pavement still wet with rain, as light streams from nearby shop windows and storm clouds part over the distant Eiffel Tower. The work is rendered in a palette of brown, green, yellow, blue and grey hues, embellished with textured areas of impasto throughout. It is signed in red paint to the lower right and presented without glass in a silver tone wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

- nicks, surface wear and markings to frame; no backing paper present.
