A vintage Seth Thomas adamantine pillar style mantel clock. This clock features a wooden case that features a thin veneer of plastic, which Seth Thomas trademarked the process as “adamantine”. The plastic has a faux stone finish in brown hues. The case also features a molded crown and base with applied brass details of fluted columns, ornate feet, and lion head rings to each side. The clock face is housed behind a hinged glass door, and set in an egg and dart molded gold toned bezel. It displays black Arabic numbers, a chapter ring, spade tipped hands, three key arbors, and marked “Seth Thomas”, “Manufactured in the United States of America”. The verso offers a door housing the clock mechanism which is marked “89C”, and also includes an embossed figural pendulum, a key, and instructional label.
